From 2003 to the opening in 2006, Greg Evans transformed Northwick Park Golf Club from an old refuse site into a first class golf course, overseeing the construction, grow in and opening. The theme for the course is ‘famous holes from around the world’. One minute you are putting for birdie on the world famous postage stamp at Royal Troon and the next you are chipping by the rhododendrons at Augusta!
At Northwick the focus was on top quality playing conditions. The tees and fairways were sown with Rye Grass and the greens with Creeping Bent. These greens became so good that top quality players such as Sergio Garcia and Colin Montgomerie commented that they were up there with the best that they had played. All this was achieved on a relatively modest maintenance budget. See photos of Northwick Park’s transformation by clicking on the link below.
