During March West Middlesex Golf Club and The Brentham Sports club commissioned a full agronomy audit of their playing surfaces. At West Middlesex, Greg looked at the greens and analysed data on 3 selected ones. The Brentham club wanted an audit focusing on the main football pitch, with special emphasis looking at the drainage in the area.
This service is proving highly popular with golf and sports clubs across the UK. It covers criteria such as organic matter content, percolation rates and compaction, whilst also assessing playability. The audit makes a record of an agronomic starting point. From there, a club can make changes and track the results objectively.
